A career that started in his teens took Chef Stuart into the limelight in 2012, when he opened State Bird Provisions in San Francisco. It was named “Best New Restaurant” that year by Bon Appetit magazine and has held a Michelin star since 2014.
With his wife and collaborator, Pastry Chef Nicole Krasinski, he opened The Progress in 2014 (now a seven-year Michelin star awardee) and The Anchovy Bar in 2020. The James Beard Foundation honored them as “Best Chefs: West” in 2015 and their “State Bird Provisions” cookbook received a James Beard Award nomination in 2018.
