The Key Room is designed to do more than provide an accommodating event space in the heart of Marin County. Founded in 2008, The Key Room serves as an extension of Homeward Bound of Marin, helping fulfill its mission of moving people from crises to stability to thriving.
This unique facility earns revenue and builds employment skills for people facing barriers to work and housing.

Our team is proud to include graduates of the Fresh Starts Culinary Academy, a flagship job-training program that empowers both aspiring chefs in the community and Homeward Bound residents seeking careers in the culinary industry.
This visionary model ensures that every event hosted at The Key Room contributes to life-changing opportunities for individuals like Todd.
After experiencing homelessness, Todd now has a home of his own and a renewed sense of hope. His leadership in meal production and dedication to mentoring new trainees led to his promotion last year to PM Kitchen Manager at The Key Room.
