Join Chef Matt Shapiro, a passionate forager, to explore cooking with California’s winter mushrooms. In this deep-dive class, you’ll cook with Black Trumpet, Hedgehog and Yellowfoot mushrooms, taking home three delicious recipes: two that highlight a single mushroom’s unique flavor and one that blends all three into a harmonious dish. Hear Matt’s top tips on foraging, flavor and technique while creating and sharing unforgettable mushroom dishes.

About the instructor: Chef Matt Shapiro helped lead restaurant kitchens on both coasts before joining Hog Island Oyster Co. as chef at Tony’s Seafood. He played a key role in creating the company’s sustainable sourcing plan before joining our team.
