Shake up your week with an evening of cocktail history, distilled spirits, and savory bites. Join Jeff Burkhart, one of Marin’s most celebrated bartenders and mixologists, for an evening dedicated to Vodka and Gin.  Mix and taste some classic creations that bring out the best of two dramatically different top-shelf clear liquors. You will learn to make the today’s most popular version of the martini (wet and dirty vodka), a time-tested version (the dry gin martini), James Bond’s famous cocktail (which features both gin and vodka), and the classic gimlet, a citrus cocktail which can be made with equally well with either vodka or gin. Jeff will share his expertise about the origins of these liquors and how they have made their mark in movies, entertaining and bars..

• Craft 3 different cocktails celebrating Vodka and Gin

• Pair each cocktail with some delicious savory small bites

About the Instructor: Jeff Burkhart has been behind bars for 30+ years as a local bartender. An expert on spirits and their histories, he writes the award-winning weekly “Barfly” column in the Marin Independent Journal. He also has authored two books that share tales of people he meets over the bar.
