Public Class: Holiday Cookie Kick-Off with Chef Dave Leyva

Mix, bake and decorate a sampling of holiday cookies from traditional American to international favorites. Guided by Chef Dave, you will move through an eclectic selection of candidates for your cookie swap that ranges from Pumpkin Spice Snickerdoodles to Italian Hazelnut Baci di Dama. Other recipes for the class to make and taste: Meyer Lemon Crinkle Cookies, Dubai Chocolate Brownies, Perfect Coconut Macaroons, White Chocolate Gingerbread Biscotti and of course, Sugar Cookies decorated with Royal Icing.
What You Make and Take Home:
• Mix and bake an assortment of holiday cookies with tastings of each.
• Take home your decorated Sugar Cookies and some cookie dough to bake at home.
About the Instructor: Dave Leyva worked as chef and pastry chef in several notable restaurants before starting his journey as an instructor in the Wine Country. He has taught and mentored rising chefs at The Culinary Institute of America, Copia, and the original Williams-Sonoma store. He now takes pride in overseeing our Community Teaching Kitchen.
