Public Class: Step-by-Step Sushi with Richard Keating

If you always wanted to try making sushi, this is for you! Get step-by-step instruction to learn basic techniques for making a variety of rolls and small dishes that you would find at your favorite sushi counter. You’ll dive into the importance of sourcing, preparation, and how to achieve “washoku,” traditional Japanese culinary culture, in your own kitchen.
What You’ll Make and Take Home:
- Make and taste Kombu Salad, Inari Sushi, Temaki Sushi, Chumaki Sushi and Miso Soup
- Take home recipes and a package of nori seaweed to build your own sushi
About the instructor: Richard Keating of The Japanese Pantry began his culinary career in New York at acclaimed restaurants such as Prune, Estela and The Four Horsemen. In San Francisco, he brought his expertise to a new realm with a purveyor of authentic ingredients and carefully sourced products from Japan.
