Get a tour through Peruvian coastal cuisine and cocktail history with a cooking demonstration by Chef Johana Leon of Ayawaska Restobar and cocktails by Marin’s own Jeff Burkhart, writer of the award-winning “Barfly” column.
Guests will enjoy a curated three-course menu as Chef Johana. a Lima native, explains dishes that rose from the country’s diverse geography, indigenous roots and cultural melting pot. Menu details coming soon!
Between courses, celebrity mixologist Jeff Burkhart — bartender, journalist and author of “Twenty Years Behind Bars” — demonstrates and pours two classic cocktails side by side:
- Pisco Sour — Peru’s signature cocktail, shaken with fresh lemon, egg white, and bitters for s frothy top and bittersweet finish
- Pisco Punch — the historic San Francisco Gold Rush-era cocktail composed with pineapple gum syrup and citrus
Jeff will walk guests through the technique, history and stories behind each pour — equal parts bar craft and barroom folklore.
