Start a delicious year with Chef Roland Passot, a devoted ambassador for French cuisine as founder of the erstwhile La Folie in San Francisco, Petite Left Bank in Tiburon and Larkspur’s Left Bank Brasserie.
Chef Roland began his gastronomic career in France, then made his way to The French Room in Dallas to win the James Beard Award for Best Rising Star Chef in 1980. He opened La Folie in 1988, earning a Michelin star and a longstanding place among the top-listed restaurants in the Bay Area.
He was inducted in 1991 by the Maîtres Cuisiniers de France, which honored him with their Lifetime Achievement award in 2015.
Chef Roland currently serves as a guiding presence at Vine Hospitality, which offers varied dishes at restaurants like LB Steak, Camper, Meso Modern Mediterranean and Rollati Ristorante.
